Our Komodo Caco Sand is made from 100% Calcium Carbonate, the sand has been developed to provide a safe and hygienic terrain for many desert dwelling reptiles. Most importantly the sand has been designed to be digestible if inadvertently swallowed.
The CaCO3 sand reduces the risk of impaction in a reptile caused by other sand on the market. Silicone based sands can form a cement like blockage if consumed and would require veterinary attention unlike CaCO3 sand. CaCO3 sand is a popular choice amongst both reptiles and their keepers!
