Our formulas are made of raw meat, raw fish and other fresh food, dehydrated at low temperature. This unique fabrication process preserves most of the recognized benefits of raw food, serving them in handy kibbles. We never use slaughterhouse rejects or by-products, meat meal or fishmeal.

Many nutrients, such as vitamins, are destroyed through the cooking and extrusion process. Following a unique manufacturing process, we slowly dehydrate food ingredients at low temperature in order to preserve the vast majority of nutrients and the full flavour of natural ingredients.
Because of our low temperature dehydration process, there are only trace amounts of humidity in our food, thus preventing the proliferation of bacteria or microorganisms that cause infections, food poisoning and digestive disorders!
Our recipes are carefully developed by canine and feline nutritionists in order to provide your dog and your cat with the nutrients needed to maintain excellent health and the pleasures of tasty meals made with fresh human grade ingredients. Should you wish to feed homemade meals to your pet, be aware that it isn't enough to just put raw meat or fish in the bowl, unless you are prepared to cause deficiencies or overload your four-legged friend. A healthy diet must balance proteins, fat, vitamins, minerals, calcium and even phosphorus. This is why we design our products to meet all nutrient requirements established by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO).
All of our ingredients are approved for human consumption. Their quality and grading are the same as any food you purchase from the grocery store! All of our meat is carefully selected and processed in HACCP (Hazard analysis and critical control points) certified plants. We outsource our quality control process to an independent laboratory to ensure impartial results. Finally, you will find a lot number on all our packaging to ensure the best possible traceability.
Dehydrating food is a natural way to retain nutrients and flavours without having to resort to chemical additives, colouring agents and synthetic preservatives, which could trigger allergies.
You will not find any bone fragment in our recipes, so your dog and your cat will never be put at risk for broken teeth, intestinal blockage or perforation.
Want to transform CaniSource kibbles into a moist and tender meal your cat or dog will love? Simply rehydrate the kibbles with hot or lukewarm water for 15 minutes before mealtime. You can even add a spoonful of yogurt, kefir or home made fruit puree for even more flavours!
Insert rehydrated kibbles in a Kong toy and leave it in the freezer overnight. Your dog will thus be able to play even longer. Lots of exciting chases in perspective...
You can freeze rehydrated kibbles to create iced treats, even turn them into popsicles. A very cool way to serve pet snacks!
Are there crumbs at the bottom of the box? It's entirely possible since CaniSource is dehydrated, not extruded, hence more fragile. Our advice: rehydrate these crumbs with lukewarm water and turn them into a savoury meal. Use the same volume of rehydrated crumbs per serving (1 cup crumbs = 1 cup kibbles).
